What is CBT?

CBT stands for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, it is called the ‘Therapy of the here and now’ because CBT practitioners focus on helping people change their thoughts, styles of reasoning and behaviours in the ‘here and now’ thereby modifying the present problem and implementing strategies.

A central principle of cognitive behavioural therapy is that thoughts, emotions, behaviours and physiology are part of a unified system.  A change to any one part will be accompanied by changes to the other parts.
